We’re Hiring a Community Event Planner!

What if you could help one of the nation’s leading learner-driven schools create events that families love, community members talk about, and guests want to come back to again and again? We’re looking for someone who gets excited about bringing people together, creating beautiful and polished experiences, and turning great ideas into events that truly matter.

This is not just a logistics role. It is a relationship-building, experience-shaping, revenue-generating role for someone who loves both warmth and precision, both creativity and execution. If you are energized by hospitality, promotion, community-building, and creating events that are both meaningful and financially successful, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re hiring a full-time Community Event Planner for The Forest School in Fayetteville / Trilith, Georgia. The role includes generous PTO, flexible scheduling, blackout dates around major events, and compensation of $45,000–$50,000, commensurate with experience, plus an ICHRA medical benefit and bonus opportunity

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the planning, promotion, coordination, and execution of a year-round portfolio of events

  • Build the school’s annual event calendar

  • Create event plans, timelines, budgets, and pricing strategies

  • Coordinate vendors, volunteers, registration, hospitality, setup, and event flow

  • Market events to current families and the wider Trilith and Fayette County community

  • Track revenue, expenses, attendance, and outcomes by event

  • Help the school identify what to repeat, refine, expand, or stop

  • Coordinate social media before, during, and after events to drive attendance and capture the energy of the experience

This role is for someone entrepreneurial enough to think about demand, pricing, and margin; hospitable enough to create experiences that feel warm and worth attending; resourceful enough to solve problems quickly; relational enough to work well with families, staff, vendors, volunteers, and partners; and creative enough to spot opportunities others might miss. The strongest candidates may come from backgrounds in event planning, hospitality, fundraising events, community programming, school events, marketing, customer experience, nonprofit advancement, or small business operations.

At The Forest School, we believe meaningful experiences matter. We believe events can do more than fill a calendar. They can strengthen relationships, build belonging, extend our mission into the wider community, and help fund bold learning. This role is ideal for someone who loves bringing people together and wants to help create events that people remember, talk about, come back to, and gladly invite others into.

Sound like you, or someone you know?

We’d love for you to share this opportunity with anyone who might be a great fit for our community and mission.
