Tea, Talks, and Triumphs: A Season of Showcases and Self-Discovery
spark studio
What a beautiful ending to Session 6! Our Spring Tea was met with grace and courtesy, creating a peaceful and reflective atmosphere. The tablescape, seen from a hero's view, resembled a winding snake, while others had fun searching for the butterflies they had created earlier in the week. A few were delighted by the secret question hidden inside their teacups—a lovely touch that sparked thoughtful conversation.
Many thanks to everyone for making this event such a special occasion, where we could gather and cherish our time together. As the end of this session approaches, we are reminded that the finish line is just around the corner. Our Badge Ceremony was a highlight, and we’re feeling proud of our hard work and excited to finish the school year strong.
As we charge ahead, building our character and preparing to discover the seventh habit of happy kids, we look forward to the final lap of this journey. We hope you all enjoy a peaceful, sun-filled Spring Break—time to renew, recharge, and blossom into the best versions of ourselves.
Our letter of the week is “e.”
NOTE: Virtual learning challenge for Friday, April 4th:
Learners have been sent home with a story script. The challenge is to finish the story and bring it back to school for a special reading. Encourage your learner to be responsible for their things.
For the learners dismissed at 12:30, [click here for a story]. It will be so fun to read everyone’s responses to the same story.

That’s a Wrap on Session 6!
Thank you all for coming out to support our elementary learners at the Wildlife Showdown exhibition! The energy in the room was incredible, and the learners were so proud to share their hard work and creativity with you.
This week, learners had the chance to review the feedback left by attendees who completed the exit survey. Thank you to everyone who participated—your thoughtful responses will help shape and strengthen their work as we head into Session 7.
Looking ahead, we’ll be continuing our biology theme in Quest. Here’s a little teaser:
“Though I am small, I have six legs and wings. I build, I buzz, and I sometimes sting. What am I?”
Let’s just say… it’s going to be a bug-tastic adventure!
We’ll also begin a new journey using an online platform called The Compassion Project. This initiative is all about helping learners explore feelings, build strong social skills, and practice kindness and empathy—tools that are just as important in the Studio as they are out in the world.
For our virtual day tomorrow, we’ve created a fun and reflective plan that encourages learners to get outside, observe spring in action, and start a personal kindness journal. You can view the full virtual day instructions here:

One small request as we prepare for next session: our pencil supply has taken quite a hit this year. If you're able, please consider donating pencils to help keep our Studio stocked and ready for learning.
Have a fun and safe break—we’ll see you soon for more learning, growing, and storytelling!

A Week of Showcasing and Reflection
This week was filled with creativity, preparation, and meaningful reflection as we geared up for and hosted our Exhibition. Our learners dedicated the early part of the week to final preparations for the Food Justice League Exhibition, where they showcased their hard work to Jamie and Jilea Hemmings of Nourish and Bloom and to families. Learners shared proposals, received insightful feedback, and then took time to thoughtfully revise their work based on what they heard—a true demonstration of growth and perseverance.
In Story Arts, our learners took the big stage—literally—with our off-campus TED Talk Showcase. Five winners delivered powerful talks in a screening room, impressing guests with their storytelling, vulnerability, and stage presence.
Meanwhile, in Civilization, learners completed their final challenge of the session: creating a visual representation of the lasting impact of ancient religions from Greece, Rome, India, and China. They explored questions like: What were the core beliefs of these ancient systems? How have they shaped the world today? Which beliefs have stood the test of time, and why? Squads reviewed each other's work, offered "glows and grows," and engaged in reflective discussions about how their ideas evolved.
This week was a beautiful reminder of the power of feedback, revision, and sharing meaningful work with a community. We are proud of the courage, creativity, and critical thinking our learners demonstrated at every turn.

Innovators in the Making—A Week of Achievements!
This week was a remarkable one at the Forest as we wrapped up our Quest on Inventions and the Patent Process with an exciting Exhibition Night! Our heroes had the incredible opportunity to present their innovative ideas to real experts—Patent and Trademark lawyers from Founders Legal | Bekiares Eliezer LLP, right here in Trilith. These experts carefully evaluated each invention, selecting winners based on patentability, originality, and problem-solving impact. It was an inspiring evening, filled with creativity, critical thinking, and the realization that their ideas could have real-world applications.
Beyond just the competition, the presence of legal experts brought an invaluable learning experience. They provided not only feedback but also a glimpse into the professional world of patents and intellectual property. The heroes were thrilled to hear that some of their ideas could genuinely be worth pursuing—and they left the evening feeling empowered and motivated to keep innovating. Parents, Guides, and students alike enjoyed the engaging discussion, made even more lively by the humor and expertise of our guest judges.
In addition to our Exhibition, we officially closed out all badges with running partners, celebrating the progress and dedication our heroes have shown throughout this session. It’s always rewarding to see the growth that comes from these challenges, and this week was no exception!
A special congratulations to our Hero for Learning to Be, Riley Wakefield! Riley has demonstrated outstanding character, perseverance, and a commitment to personal growth—qualities that extend far beyond the classroom.
As we head into Spring Break, we encourage all our heroes to reflect on their accomplishments and enjoy a well-deserved break. Virtual Day learning plans are attached, so please review them as needed.
Wishing you all a fantastic and restful Spring Break!
