Trilith Business Owners Step-up to Support Scholarships for The Forest School

Businesses from Southern Ground to Siren Lab are rallying to support their Trilith school through a tax credit program open to all individuals and businesses in Georgia.

The Apogee Scholarship Fund allows Georgia taxpayers to redirect a portion of their tax liability to help fund scholarships for private schools across the state. Taxpayers can designate the school where they want their dollars to go – without any cost to the taxpayer

Tyler Thigpen, Co-founder and Head of The Forest School, says these scholarships are critical to the fabric of the school.

“Diversity is a core tenet of our school’s community, and it’s only through these scholarships that we can bring in a rich diversity of learners. The Apogee program allows learners to attend Forest who otherwise could not afford to do so. Over 30% of our learners depend on these scholarships, year-to-year, so it’s imperative that we keep a pool of dollars available for those students wanting to attend, regardless of their zip code.”

Southern Ground is a big believer in the Apogee program and has supported it for two years. New supporter, Karen Heston - Owner of Siren Lab, is excited about the school and the scholarship opportunity. Karen, whose company works with Marvel Studios in Atlanta, says she and her partner are very enthusiastic about The Forest School and the role it plays in their son’s life – and are pleased to be able to support the Apogee Scholarship Program.

Mary Norman, Opportunity Director at The Forest School, says it’s a simple process to apply and it’s important that those wishing to support the school act now as this pool of money will soon expire for this year. Mary is available to answer any questions you may have about the program. She can be reached at mary@alliances4good.com to help you sign on today!
