Money, money, money!: Session 3 Quests Focus on Financial Literacy

 

Quests are real-world projects to master 21st-century skills.

Usually lasting four- to six-weeks, each Quest includes a series of challenges bound by a compelling narrative and is designed to deliver 21st century skills while simultaneously incorporating traditional topics like science, social studies, and history.

Here’s a sneak peek of our Quests for Session 3!


elementary studio

Financial Literacy Quest

Learners will learn the basics of money: spending, saving, and giving. Lower Elementary Heroes will create their very own business for the Children’s Business Fair. At the Exhibition, they will present their business models to experts, get experience running their stands, and prepare to launch their own business! Upper Elementary learners will be diving deeper into finance and budgeting. Exhibition will be the Game of Life, a competition to see who’s financial savvy helps them to make it to millionaires row!

Financial Literacy Quest

In Middle School, learners will study college and career pathways, salary and income flows, how to prepare for and pay taxes, budgeting and saving strategies, and how to invest for retirement. They will put their own “Career/College/Finances” plan together and present to their Dream Teams at Exhibition. But beware! Life has a way of being unpredictable, so learners should be prepared to think on their feet and adapt their financial plan to whatever life throws their way!

Financial Literacy Quest

High School learners will transform into financial advisors, mastering the content knowledge and consulting strategies needed to guide their clients in building wealth. Along the way, they will learn about career and college planning, managing loans, debt, and credit, budgeting and saving, navigating taxes, building a diverse investment portfolio (stocks, bonds, IRAs, 401ks), and helping clients make long term and short term financial goals. At the Exhibition, our financial advisors will be put to the test by having to work in teams to give real world financial advice.

The Space Quest

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Blast off!

Spark Session 3 will be focused on space and time as we have been called to duty by NASA to take flight. We will act as astronauts on a mission to the moon. An astronaut is a person trained, equipped, and deployed by a human spaceflight program to serve as a commander or crew member aboard a spacecraft. This is exciting news. Let’s build a spacecraft and travel to infinity and beyond!
