Our Peace Day Celebration was lovely. We hope you enjoyed seeing some pictures and hearing all about it. We will be mailing our wishes for peace to Rejkjavik, Iceland, for the lighting of the Imagine Peace Tower. May Peace be with you today and everyday.

This week our kindergarteners spent some quality “quiet” time with Ms. Denise and the virtual learners. They spontaneously created a virtual launch that was quite delightful to observe.

Onward!

In the trenches… This week heroes dove head first into campaigning. They began to think through what makes them want to be a leader, what platforms are most important to them, and how they could solve the problems facing our world. This Quest has given the Elementary heroes background knowledge about how our country runs, and why it is run that way. They have seen faults and called them out, as well as begun to debate topics that are near and dear to them.

Heroes did a phenomenal job navigation testing, reaching their core skills goal early in the week, and completing Quest challenges. To say we are impressed by what these heroes have been able to accomplish and the quality of Quest work done is an understatement.

As the Session goes on, we will continue to hone our debate skills and dive even deeper into the challenges that face our country. All we ask is that you continue to encourage and praise your heroes hard work and have discussions that keep their interest raised about their futures.

This week, presidential campaigns kicked into full gear! Learners created platforms outlining their stances on key issues and created these websites to share with the world their visions for America.

Candidates delivered major campaign speeches and campaign managers fielded tough questions from opposing groups. Next week, campaigns will dive even deeper into the art of debating. In less than two weeks, candidates will square off on the debate stage, each trying to deliver the most compelling vision for the future of the country.

What a jam packed week! We began this week with a continuation of The Making of a Politician Quest where heroes created commercials and political campaign posters showcasing who among them they believe to be the best candidates!

This week's Storytelling and Civilization was the most intense it has been in the two years of our high school's existence. In groups, they announced their presidential candidates and outlined each group's policy stance, slogan, and more. While in Civilization and Quest, heroes debated old Supreme Court cases and other current political issues. During debates, a hero stated “in public school they would never let us debate or even talk about these topics. That's why those schools could never compare to ours." High school heroes continue to make strides and think critically about how to improve the future of our nation.

Have a great weekend!
