Announcing Rita Williams as our 2021 Graduation Commencement Speaker

We are proud and excited to announce that Rita Williams will give the Commencement address at our graduation on May 22, 2021, at 10am. The event will streamed live on our Facebook Live.

Rita Williams is a former UConn women’s basketball player and WNBA All-Star. At UConn, she became the starting  point guard and team captain her junior and senior year for the # 1 team in the nation. During her time at UConn,  Rita helped lead the Lady Huskies to three Big East titles and a Final Four appearance. 

Rita was drafted 13th overall by the Washington Mystics in the 1998 WNBA draft. Rita went on to play for the  Mystics for two seasons before being traded in the expansion draft to the Indiana Fever. With the Fever, Rita  became the first All-Star in team history, by leading the team in points, assists, and steals.  

Currently, Rita is the Assistant Athletic Director and Varsity Girls Head Basketball Coach at the Mount Vernon  School in Sandy Springs, GA. She is the owner of Elevate Sports Academy, which is a premiere sports organization  and training destination designed to develop and prepare youth, amateur, collegiate, and professional athletes to  make an impact in sports on all levels through elite training, skill development, youth programs and sports showcases and experiences.
