Quameiha Raymond-Ducheine
Elementary Apprentice Guide and Story Arts Ambassador
Quameiha, also known as The Creole Griot, is a proud embodiment of those who have come before her. Quameiha carries the tradition of West African Storytellers fusing traditional storytelling methods with modern-day technology to share stories that elevate and unite communities. Quameiha was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She discovered her love for storytelling on her grandmother’s front porch in Tiburon, Ayiti (Haiti), where she and her brother put on improvised shows for the town.
Since then, Quameiha has used her gifts to bring theatrical productions, narrative films, and social documentaries to life. After graduating from Syracuse University as a Posse Scholar, Quameiha began working as a Production Assistant on various film sets. Quameiha found it difficult to find work that aligned with her purpose and passion, so in 2020 she launched Creole Griot Productions: a production company that creates inspirational and educational content. In 2021 Quameiha apprenticed with Master Farmer Stephanie Simmons at PolyCulture Productions, a 2.5-acre organic farm in Decatur, GA. She served as a Land Steward, Community Engagement Manager, and Young Growers Coordinator. In these roles, Quameiha learned how to grow organic foods, develop relationships with local market customers, and guide learners through the curriculum that fostered a love and appreciation for nature.
Quameiha is honored to serve as an Apprentice Guide at The Forest School and looks forward to continuing her hero's journey.
Sarah Holik
Administrative Assistant
Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Mercer University and a Master of Divinity from the McAfee School of Theology. After ten years serving children and families in local congregations, Sarah transitioned to supporting, equipping, and empowering others through administrative work in May 2021. She currently lives in and serves The Forest School from Macon, GA.
Sarah grew up the daughter of a public educator and an Army sergeant, later postal employee. Her family lived for four years in Germany and settled in south Georgia. Although self-directed learning wasn’t Sarah’s dominant educational experience, she finds great meaning in Montessori-based Godly Play. Sarah’s favorite children’s books are The Princess and the Goblin and The Mysterious Benedict Society, and she loved Fred Rogers before being a neighbor was cool again. She’s learning to golf from her dad, has two long-haired dachshunds, and plays daily with her two-year-old twin and three-year-old nephews.
