Announcing Maxwell Smith as Head of The Forest School Online

 

The Forest School is thrilled to introduce Maxwell Smith—a graduate of Harvard’s School Leadership Program—as Head of The Forest School Online.

Maxwell Smith believes the future of learning is both self directed and blended.

Max is an action researcher in his Economics, AP Economics, and AP US Politics & Government classrooms at Carver High School in Atlanta Public Schools. He began as a 2012 Metro Atlanta Teach For America Corps Member and has held roles as a teacher leader, instructional coach, and school director. He serves as the Vice Chair of the founding school board for Atlanta SMART Academy, the first performing arts-based middle school in Southwest Atlanta, opening this fall.

Max holds a Master’s in School Leadership with a concentration in School Development from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. As an educator, economist, and entrepreneur, he is passionate about using self-directed learning to optimize learners’ identity development through education.

Max is thrilled to launch and lead The Forest School Online.
